We strongly condemn the June 16 confirmation of the death sentences issued last month for 106 persons, including the elected President Mr. Mohamed Morsi, who was ousted by a military coup.

Undoubtedly, exposing Mr. Morsi, who took the office by popular will, following the first democratic elections of the Egyptian history, to such a sentence, as a result of a legal process that is arbitrary, unlawful and far from meeting international standards, would not contribute, under any circumstances, to social peace and stability that is needed in Egypt.

For Egypt to immediately stop following this wrong path and to revoke the verdicts in question, without a delay, is a vital expectation for the peace and stability of both Egypt as well as our region.
